Michael and I were reading this while Lily was sleeping today and reflecting on how we have seen so many of our prayers be answered by our sweet Savior.
Michael prayed that she would have a teachable spriit and our baby girl loves to explore and learn new things daily.
I prayed for her to be courageous and not give up easily and we see a spirit of determination in her already.
We prayed for her protection and her caregivers and the Lord graciously placed her in a foster hoome over the past year with someone to love her.
We prayed for her to learn to trust us and everyday we see that bond growing stronger and stronger.
This is only the beginning...a glimpse of God's bigger story unfolding.
I was reading and entry from my journal a month ago and I wrote...
"Father forgive me for not saying "yes" earlier in my life to being part of your plan for the orphan. Thank you that we are walking this road to bring Lily home...it is hard and beautiful at the same time. I am so thankful we are not going to miss out on this sweet blessing you have for our family. Open our eyes and hearts to what else you have for us... Fill our home with laughter and love and joy we have never known. Give us the ability to live expansively and openly as we wait to see what you have in store in the days ahead. Thank you for the story you are writing in our hearts."
This is only the beginning...a glimpse of God's bigger story unfolding.
As we prepare to come home we'll share a few highlights from the past few days...

Your journel brings tears to my eyes every morning..it is the first thing I look for and have shared your story with many of my friends. The Lord is surely blessing you all. We will be praying for your safe arrival in Tenn. I know your family there will be so happy; Love to you all...Wally and Jean
The picture of Lily feeding Michael brought tears to my eyes. Finally she is responding to her Daddy who loves her more than life itself. Everyone here is anxiously awaiting your return. It won't be long now. We love you so much. Love, Mom
Amy and Michael ( and Lily), Thank you so much for sharing this journey with all of us. We all have enjoyed every minute. The kiddos love to see what Lily is up to and want to know when they get to meet her. They have even had discussions over who will be allowed to hold her! I explained that that it is only her mommy and daddies job for now! (breathe sigh of relief).
Todays post is beautiful, God is in the details and then you catch gilmpses of the bigger picture and it is breathtaking! You are a beautiful family and I know Spencer will be the perfect big brother. We cant wait to see you at home!

Sherpa is does quite well with the iron! Love the pictures and the videos of Lily - what a sweet and precious giggle! I have truly enjoyed every minute of this wonderful journey with you all. Lily makes your family complete! Just beautiful! I am happy for Spencer, or I should say Lily because she is getting the best big brother! He will take care of his little sister as she grows up! She is going to break some hearts!
Have a safe trip home!

Amy and Michael, it has been so precious to experience your journey to bring Lily home through your journals. Lily is more adorable each day! You are both such loving, inspiring parents. The love and faith you are already pouring into Lily will be such a blessing to her. Miss you both and can’t wait for you all to be home! (hope this post finally gets through :)Michelle
Amy and Michael, I have loved reading your journal and hearing all that you are experiencing during this life changing chapter in your family. I know you must be ready to be home and yet full of so many emotions for Miss Lily. I love seeing you as a mom, Amy. Of course, you are awesome and a natural with that baby girl! Lily will learn very soon that her daddy is a very fun jungle gym and you will take the backseat- so enjoy it while you can! I can't wait to see Lily with big brother Spencer, too. I know he must be so anxious to meet her. Isn't it amazing to look back and see how God takes care of details that we do pray for and even details that we didn't know to pray for. Praying for a smooth journey home!
Love,
Amy N.
