A little "eno" excitement...
Spencer has had his eye on one of these for quite some time and recently took the plunge and purchased one with his own money.
To say he was excited is an understatement.
He couldn't wait to find a perfect spot for it and Lily was equally fascinated with his new purchase!
He showed me all the different ways you can get in and out of it.
He also had fun rolling over, doing flips and hanging upside down.
Lily was grinning from ear to ear and even stopped to give him a few hugs and kisses for letting her be part of the fun!
I was a little skeptical at first but decided to give it a try after Spencer's expert demonstrations.
Surprisingly it is really comfortable and quite relaxing. It is kind of like a parachute hammock.
This picture makes me laugh...we call it the floating Spencer bobble head.
The reflection of the red eno made the coloring of these pictures really funky but I still love the memories that they captured :)
Now every time Spencer hangs it up Lily says "Ge ge (her word for Spencer) down, "Ge ge down"!
Thankfully he is super sweet to her and always lets her have a turn.
So...if you are in the market for some fun for the whole family you may want to give the "eno" a try!

Dreamer girl...
This may be one of my new favorite pictures of Lily.
I love the innocence and wonder in her brown dreamy eyes...
the way her little fingers are clasped together and
her foot is up in the air behind her.
She doesn't take "posing cues" often (actually never at this age) but she really tried hard to do what I was asking here and after a few attempts I got the smile I was looking for :)
She had fun exploring the texture of the shaggy rug and pillows...
but after a few minutes my window of opportunity was up...
clearly she was "all done" and ready for me to put my camera away.
These were taken with my Nikon D80 50mm 1.4 lens
f/2.2

ISO 640
I ran a few levels and then used Florabella's All-in-one retouch action.

Sunday Snapshot {Rainbow of Hope}
Have you ever received an unexpected gift from God?
This past Wednesday morning I went outside early to read and journal and noticed the sun peeping up over the fence.
I pulled out the tripod and took a few snapshots for my self-portrait assignment.
It wasn't until I went through my photos on my computer that I realized the perfectly placed rainbow over my Bible.
If you look closely...the star burst under the Bible is in the shape of a dove.
One of my classmates asked me how I did it and my only answer is...
a gift from God.
God's sweet favor shining down on me last Wednesday morning.
A reminder of His unfailing love and faithfulness.
This is the picture I took right before this image...
I couldn't have planned this even if I tried.
Only God.
He is enough.
His WORD is enough if I will only take time to allow it to wash over my soul and penetrate my heart.
God's living word.
Waiting for me each day.
What will I choose?
The things of this world...or eternal truths that are certain and secure.
"But this is the one to whom I will look; he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word." Isaiah 66:2
These were taken with my Nikon D80, 50mm 1.4 lens

Daddy's little helper
Lily and I were in her room reading this morning when I looked out and noticed Michael washing my car.
I asked her if she wanted to join him and she quickly started taking off her pj's to put on her swimsuit.
Lily started out helping him wash the car and then quickly found the sponge and soapy bubbles much more exciting!
She was having fun experimenting with the splash effect of dropping the sponge in the water and rubbing the bubbles on her hands.
She had this look of determination and curiosity the entire time she was outside.
When she noticed that Michael was working on cleaning the inside of my car she decided to join in on the action.
She loved acting like a big girl and and checking out every inch of the car.
At two she is already a pro with the keys...
Then she decided to try out the view from the sunroof with Spencer's glasses in hand.
Her little double chin and big grin says it all.
Looks like we may need to get her a pair of glasses of her own:)
She climbed in the back seat and buckled up.
Then convinced her Daddy to join her in the backseat for some fun with her computer.
She definitely has her Daddy wrapped right around her little finger.
He is smitten with her and she feels the same about him :)

I Heart Faces {all boy}
This picture make my heart sing...
I had so much fun taking pictures of these boys. "E" the big brother was super cooperative and his little brother "I"...well, let's just say I could just eat him up he is so sweet!
Love the way he is looking up at his big brother and of course every boy needs a rock in hand:)
This was one of those moments that wasn't posed or directed which are the pictures I love most...life in action telling a story. Makes you wonder what "E" was thinking or dreaming about...
Thank you Andrea for sharing your boys with me for a few hours of fun!

Sunday Snapshot, on monday...{sun flare}
"From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!" Psalm 113:3
This week marks the end of an 8 week photography class I have been taking with Lisa.
Not only does she have incredible talent, she is a gifted teacher who has a passion for sharing with others and giving back to the least of these through her Visions of Hope.
Sometimes in life you need a new perspective.
I am so thankful that God put her in my life to push me out of my comfort zone.
I have learned to see the world around me in a new and different way.
I have taken risks that I normally wouldn't have tried.
I love being able to capture the every day moments that tell the story God is writing in our lives.
Grateful.
So very grateful.
...and looking forward to what lies ahead.
"You will come to a time with you believe everything is FINISHED.
THAT will be the BEGINNING. ~Louis L'Amour
